The exhibition

Streamed globally on Mixmag during the pandemic, the Stefano Noferini Digital Art Experience transformed the Cattedrale dell'Immagine, the deconsecrated church of Santo Stefano al Ponte in Florence, into a stage with no audience in the room. It paired electronic music with immersive art, uniting DJ and producer Stefano Noferini and his label Deeperfect with the visual language of large-scale exhibitions. Masterpieces by Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Modigliani, Monet and Klimt, drawn from previous immersive shows, were reinterpreted through projection mapping and VJ editing and synchronized to the set. Decades of electronic sound met centuries of art beneath the cathedral's Romanesque architecture, a bridge between the physical installation and digital broadcasting at a moment when live audiences were impossible.

My contribution

As Video Director and Visual Designer, I curated and edited all the visual content for the show. I reworked footage from previous immersive exhibitions into a cohesive visual set, tailoring its rhythm and imagery to Noferini's tech-house set for a seamless audiovisual performance. The collaboration was made possible by Ornella Vallana, who coordinated the project between the parties, keeping immersive art alive as broadcast when the room had to stay empty.
