The exhibition

Van Gogh e seus Contemporâneos arrives at Casa França-Brasil, one of Rio de Janeiro's most historic cultural venues, as a 60-minute 360° video installation in ultra-high definition with an original Dolby HD soundtrack. The experience traces Van Gogh's journey through late-19th-century Paris alongside Cézanne, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Soutine and Modigliani, its post-impressionist palette wrapping visitors in colour, brushstroke and motion. A faithfully reconstructed version of Van Gogh's famous bedroom and curated historical texts deepen the reading of the period, connecting the paintings to the lives and friendships behind them. Housed within the neoclassical halls of Casa França-Brasil and staged with the support of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the show brought a landmark European immersive production to a Brazilian audience after its earlier success in Florence.

My contribution

As Project Planning & Exhibition Design Consultant, I worked entirely remotely throughout pre-production, planning the exhibition layout, graphic design and scenographic concept from Italy. This project marked a turning point in how I approach international productions: it proved that solid planning and trust in an exceptional local partner, the team at Pink Pineapple, could guarantee a high-quality result without any on-site presence.
