The exhibition
Klimt Experience carried Gustav Klimt's universe, The Kiss and The Tree of Life, to Milan's MUDEC, the Museum of Cultures, through 360° video mapping, HD projections, VR and surround sound, co-produced with 24 ORE Cultura, the cultural operator that manages the MUDEC itself. It was one of the early chapters in the format's life, when immersive exhibitions were still finding their shape as something that could travel, scale and adapt to new spaces and new cities. For visitors, Klimt's gold-leaf world dissolved the boundary between painting and space, wrapping the museum's rooms in light, animation and sound. Being part of that moment, when the immersive experience was first learning to take to the road across Italy, was a formative step in the story of the format.

My contribution
This was my first time on site for an immersive show outside Florence. I supported the setup and trained the local staff, learning first-hand what it really takes to run an immersive exhibition day to day. Even in a supporting role it was formative, the place where I began to understand this work from the inside. More than fifty shows later, that same sense of responsibility still drives everything I do.
